Geocache at Philbrook

Using your GPS, investigate the sculptures in our gardens for clues that will lead you to a geocache where you will find travel bugs and various small treasures as well as a logbook to record your discovery. A program of the Hitachi Foundation, this award annually honors up to twelve high school seniors from around the country for their community-service activities. The award is accompanied by an unrestricted gift of $5,000, dispensed over two years. Award selection is based on the significance and extent of the nominee's service to the community, and not on grade point averages, SAT scores, or school club memberships. [Read More]

Furloughs Announced for Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma

Beginning in October, 2009, Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma will implement staff furloughs (time off without pay). This will be a Council-wide furlough on the third Monday of each month, beginning with October 19. All offices, Service Centers and camps will be closed. Troops WILL be able use facilities on furlough days. For volunteers affected by this schedule, please talk with your Membership Executive to see if any new procedures are involved in gaining access to facilities. [Read More]

Changes Announced for New Camp Wah-Shah-She Programs

In 2010, Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma will begin a new summer focus on Troop, Family and Core Camping as well as other outdoor programs that will make use of the beautiful Wah-Shah-She facilities. Resident Camp per say will not be offered at Camp Wah-Shah-She in 2010. Hok-Té Rally: From the Eyes of a Parent

On Monday, August 27, the Hok-Té Service Unit from Broken Arrow had a spectacular Rally. Results include 50 new Girl Scouts and 7 new leaders. This increased the membership in the Hok-té Service Unit by 22%. Troop Leaders and their Girl Scouts were asked to contribute their time, effort and creativity to make the Rally a success.
