Archery Successful completion of the class certifies you as a National Archery Association Level One Archery Instructor. Level One Archery Instructors may use the GSEOK archery equipment and ranges with their fourth-grade and older Girl Scouts. Fee: $20.00
Introduction to Canoe This course prepares you to take girls canoeing on flat, protected water (ex. Tallchief Lake). Learn basic paddling strokes, canoe safety, and Council procedures. Fee: $20.00
Essentials of River Canoe Learn the fundamental river paddling skills including boat handling, paddling technique, identifying hazards, river reading and self-rescues in moving water. Pre-requisite: Introduction to Canoe Fee: $20.00
Introduction to Canoe Instructor Development Workshop & Certification Exam This course will teach basic canoe skills. Presentations include dressing to paddle safely and potential paddling hazards. Pre-requisite: Introduction to Canoe Fee: Participants share the cost of food and materials.
Kayak Training for Canoe Instructors A supplemental instruction session for current canoe instructors, learn about the kayaks you have available to you in GSEOK. Pre-requisite: Canoe Instructor Development Workshop & Certification Examination for Introduction to Canoe Fee: none
Essentials of Touring Canoe Instructor Development Workshop & Certification Exam This course will teach extensive boat handling, paddling technique, multiple canoe rescues, and an understanding of risks and hazards and quietwater. Pre-requisite: Canoe Instructor Development Workshop & Certification Examination for Introduction to Canoe Fee: Participants share the cost of food and materials. |
