In the summer of 2005, approximately 900 girls attended resident camp at Camp Tallchief, sponsored by Girl Scouts of Magic Empire Council. By utilizing the camping facilities at Camp Swannie, we are able to offer more programs to more girls throughout the summer.

New in 2006!

Me & My Buddy: Come spend three days at camp with your best buddy. The agenda will include a sample of age appropriate activities.

Fix It Uppers: If you have a strong desire to work with your hands and create something new or enhance the existing facilities, this program is for you. Work on service projects to help make Camp Tallchief a better place.

This Old Camp: Spend 2 weeks contributing to the improvement of camp by laying sod, removing fallen trees, pouring cement, etc.... Supervised use of some power tools may be required.

Magic Empire Council resident camp offers water skiing, horseback riding, a challenge course, archery, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, a climbing wall, campfires, swimming, arts and crafts, outdoor cooking and more.

Outdoor education activities can help meet the needs of today’s girls to:

Gain a sense of control over their activities by helping to plan them.

Be accepted by the group and regarded with affection by others.

Feel secure, free from physical as well as social harm.

Have new adventures – exciting and varied activities to test the limits of their skills and feel a sense of accomplishment.

Enjoy recognition and approval – to stand out as individuals for the things they do well.

Share and enjoy leisure-time activities with a positive adult role model.

International Camp Staff
This year we're expecting approximately 5 international camp counselors at our resident camp! Would you be interested in hosting one of these counselors for a weekend? They would love to share their culture with you.   Find out your Responsibilities as a host family and to download an Application.

A Note from the Camp Director:
Hi! My name is Kimberlee Harley and I am thrilled to be returning as the Resident Camp and Challenge Course Director for Girl Scouts of Magic Empire Council. This summer is the 25th year of Girl Scouting at Camp Tallchief!I have been a Girl Scout in this Council for 25 years and 2006 will be my 21st summer at Camp Tallchief. I am looking forward to another exciting summer filled with adventure. Come camp with us! The memories and friends you make at camp will last a lifetime!
