Service Unit Managers Service Unit Managers provide administrative leadership to a Service Unit. This course reviews the specific responsibilities of a SUM. It will focus on an understanding of leadership styles, group and team dynamics, communication techniques, and facilitation skills necessary to be a positive and successful manager. You will learn how to run effective meetings, delegation skills, Service Team functions and your relationship as the Council representative to your community.
Troop Organizers Troop Organizers coordinate the placement of girls and adults with the assistance of the Service Unit Membership Recruitment Team. This training prepares you to be confident and effective in promoting Girl Scouting in the community, identifying potential volunteers, organizing troops and groups in the community, and planning and leading a successful recruitment campaign. You’ll learn to place girls in new or existing troops, assist troop leaders in starting and maintaining troops and maintain accurate, up to date records on each troop.
Troop Consultants Consultants help troops achieve better programming and improve the retention of girls and adults by providing information, resources, advice and encouragement to troop leaders/advisors. This training will focus on how to help the troop leader/advisor begin her job and become increasingly better at it, make early personal contact and offer continuing services. We’ll help you to become the program guru of the area -- disseminating Web site and publication information for volunteers in a timely manner. Topics addressed include: problem solving, resources, evaluation, motivation, recognition and communication.
Camping Activity and Trip Specialists CATS interpret and promote troop, Service Unit and Council camps, activities and trip opportunities. They may assist leaders in processing activity/overnight forms and tools, keep track of troop activities and provide site orientation for Council facilities. This training will introduce you to your role and give you the latest information to share with your Service Unit.
Service Unit Registrar Service Unit Registrars ensure accurate and timely membership registration by distributing, collecting, and verifying the accuracy of membership registration forms and monies. This course will prepare you to train adult leadership on the correct completion of the forms and submit registration and dues to the Council.
Service Unit Juliette Advisor Juliette Advisors promote, direct and coordinate the activities of Juliettes (Individual Member Girl Scouts) in the Service Unit area. This training will give you an overview of your role throughout the year and help you envision how your Service Unit can best serve Juliettes.
Service Unit Product Sales Coordinator Product Sales Coordinators coordinate the sale of the cookie product and or the fall products, and record keeping. This training will enable you to lead sale training for your Service Unit, introduce you the current materials and prepare you to manage and complete all necessary record keeping. |
