Do you enjoy sharing your Girl Scout experience with others? Remember how it felt to be brand new and wonder if Girl Scouts was for you? Do you get excited each fall to begin Girl Scouting again? Would you like to improve and develop your professional presentation skills?
If you answered yes, becoming a GSEOK Trainer may be an opportunity you would enjoy. Trainers are those wonderful volunteers who give our new leaders the tools to become successful and share the joy that comes from helping a shy little girl become a strong and confident young woman.
As a volunteer organization, we are always in need of trainers to help provide the most accurate information to our new leaders. If you enjoy working with adults and love Girl Scouting, this is a great way to volunteer. Trainers are needed in all areas of the Council to bring training closer to our volunteers.
Trainers are adults who:
- work effectively with other adults.
- serve as role models for adult volunteers.
- are dedicated to and support the principles of Girl Scouting.
- like a flexible Girl Scout commitment.
- are responsible, dependable and follow through on commitments.
All trainers must complete a trainer application, attend a Train-the-Trainer course, which is a course on how adults learn, how to make presentations and our training curriculums; and complete post-coursework requirements. By completing this process you will become a certified GSUSA trainer.
For more information or to become a part of the training corps, please contact the Director of Volunteer Services, Amy Hilligoss at 918-745-5206. You may also complete the Volunteer Trainer Application and email it.
The date of the next scheduled Train-the-Trainer course is listed in the Adult Development Course Catalog. Please go to the Adult Training page to download it. |
