Beginning Troop Leadership
Course Description: This is the first course in the training progression and is required for all leaders working with a troop or group. This course must be completed before starting troop meetings. This course prepares leaders to begin meeting with their troop in regularly scheduled meetings.
Course includes:
- Information necessary to begin working with your troop or group
- Planning your first parent meeting
- Where to get more information and help
- Selecting a safe meeting facility
- Organizing paperwork
- Girl recruitment
- The basics of the Girl Scout program
- Safety standards
- The leader’s role, financial management and planning
- Girl and adult planning
- The importance of pluralism
Fee: None.
Bring with you: Paper, pen, questions, and your enthusiasm (3-ring binder and divider tabs, optional).
Program Levels: Daisy, Brownie, Junior, STUDIO 2B
Pre-requisite: Beginning or Basic Leadership Training
Course Description: This is the second course in your training progression. Register for the age level appropriate to your troop: Daisy, Brownie, Junior or STUDIO 2B. All leaders must complete this course within three (3) months of starting a troop or bridging to a new age level.
Course includes:
- Sharing with other adults working with the same age level
- Age level troop program
- Planning a troop meeting
- Behavior management
- Awards
- Activity ideas

Bring with you: Note taking materials, questions, your enthusiasm, and Training Record Card. The appropriate age level girl handbook, award book and leader guide are also recommended. |
